You’ve heard the saying right? The one about trying to fit a round peg into a square hole?
It doesn’t work with humans either.
Often times we’re not meant to fit in certain places.
And yet, when that happens, in the moment, it makes you feel like something is wrong with you.
You try and change you to fit into the square hole. And the more you change, the worse it works out because you’re trying to be something you’re not in order to fit into somewhere you don’t belong.
I used to do this. I did it for a long time.
And then I realized the same thing Lainie talks about in this interview. She said, “I started going where I was appreciated instead of where I was tolerated.”
That makes all the difference.
Listen to the interview for inspiration about hanging out where you are appreciated.
